Welcome to our class website!
This site will allow our class to see homework assignments, read announcements, keep track of upcoming events and view pictures and videos. It will also contain links to useful websites.
remembrance day assembly
Our class will be performing the John Lennon song "Imagine". Please practice the lyrics and have them memorized for the performance. We would like all students to wear black for the performance.
Halloween
Halloween is fast approaching. On Thursday the students are more than welcome to come dressed in their costumes. Just a reminder no masks and no weapons. Please be mindful of our younger students when choosing a "scary" costume to wear.
We will be having a little Halloween party in the classroom in the afternoon. If you would like to bring some food to share with the class you are more than welcome to.

welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!
We are so excited to welcome everybody back to another school year! This year Mrs. Walker and I will be job sharing and Mr. Trebesh will be teaching the students Health and Career Education on Mondays. Mrs. Walker will be in the class Tuesday to Friday afternoons and will teach French, PE and Reading Language Arts. I will be teaching Math and Writing. This year we are endeavouring to have your child prepare for their high school experience by having different teachers teaching the various subject areas. Ms. Scott will be teaching all the science, and Ms. Campbell will be teaching all the Social Studies. It is our hope that your child will thrive learn in the subject areas we are skilled in as well as give us all the opportunity to build relationships with all the students.
This website will be invaluable to both the students and parents in Division 3. All homework will be posted daily as well as special announcements when needed. As you can see, all items are saved from year to year, with the most current at the top.
We are all so looking forward to a great year. Please do not hesitate to contact us at anytime. Email works best and an appointment can be set up from there if needed.
Sincerely,
Ms. Yip (Classroom Teacher - Writing, Grade 6 Math)
Mrs. Walker (French, Reading Language Arts, Gym)
Ms. Scott (Science, Grade 7 Math)
Ms. Campbell (Social Studies, Grade 7 Math)
Mr. Trebesh (Health and Career Education)

one more dad needed for camp
We are still in need of one more dad to volunteer for camp. We have had 2 volunteer so far. In addition, we have had one mom volunteer however, we would prefer to have a dad in the boy's cabin if possible. Please let us know by Tuesday, February 27th if you are able to volunteer.
important camp info
Our exciting trip to Evans Lake Forest Education Center for Division 1 & 2 is quickly approaching. We have just four short weeks in class before Spring Break, and then camp is our first week back, April 4-6.
Early next week, you will receive a notice with final payment information and proper student permission slips. At that time, we will require additional information on any possible physical or medical issues, as well as any dietary concerns such as allergies and food sensitivities.
In order to make this trip happen, we require three parent volunteers to accompany us. I recognize that this can be difficult to arrange, but the opportunity to spend time with your child and their classmates in an outdoor educational setting is impossible to beat. Over the three days students will be engaged in activities such as hiking, swimming, canoeing, orienteering, shelter building, archery and ropes or rock climbing.
As much as we would like to welcome all parents, we have specific needs to consider. As Ms. Yip and Ms. Campbell are able to supervise the girl cabins, we do require three Dads to sleep in the cabins with the boys. It is important that any parent volunteer understands that they are there in a supervisory capacity, and we require parents that will help students follow the rules and safety guidelines of Evans Lake as well as our behavior expectations of all Latimer Road students. All volunteers will need to complete a criminal record check, as required by the Surrey School District.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Lara Campbell

terry fox run 2017
Our Terry Fox Run is scheduled for Thursday, September 28th from 1:30 - 2:00 for Intermediate Students. We are hoping to see you there.
Thank you.
Thank you.
things you should know that are happening in our class
We have been talking about the Zones of Regulation in our classroom and what is in our toolbox that keeps us in the Green Zone. One of the options I am going to give the kids is to bring in headphones so they can listen to music while doing independent work. This is an OPTION for students if they feel it would help them focus easier. We have talked about the expectations of appropriate music for the classroom.
parent emails
Please have your child record your email address in the planner so I can create an email list for our class. On occasion I will be sending out information regarding important events in our classroom. In addition, in the weeks to come I will also be sending out the code for your child's Fresh Grade online portfolio account. Thank you!
